“Green Web Hosting”
On November 09, 2007 in General Information
If you are visiting this site, I am sure you have heard of “green web hosting.”
Basically just regular web hosting but using renewable energy sources to provide the energy, be it the sun, the wind, biomass, or anything else. The majority seem to be wind, solar, or a combination of the two.
The idea is that having a website hosted consumes a good amount of electricity, and using renewable sources will help to cut down on “normal” electricity consumption, which is often from coal fired power plants.
If you have multiple websites, or even just one, I urge you to consider going with a “green hosting” solution. There are links on the “General Links” page of this site, as well as banners to the left for GoGreen Hosting, webhostingbuzz.com, hostpapa.com and AISO (Affordable Internet Services Online). These are my favorite, so if you are going to choose a green host based on my recommendation, please choose one of these ![]()
