Solar-power stocks rose sharply Wednesday morning, with investors optimistic about the industry’s expansion as a solar-power conference kicked off in Munich, Germany.News from Trina Solar Ltd. (nyse: TSL - news - people ) also propped shares after the company reported a long-term polysilicon contract with predetermined pricing.

A look at how some key solar stocks fared in morning trading:

Trina gained $2.44, or 7.5 percent, to $35.19.

China Sunergy Co. (nasdaq: CSUN - news - people ) rose 32 cents, or 4.3 percent, to $7.81.

Canadian Solar Inc. (nasdaq: CSIQ - news - people ) rose 76 cents, or 3.5 percent, to $22.75.

Solarfun Power Holdings Co. (nasdaq: SOLF - news - people ) increased 87 cents, or 7.1 percent, to $13.18.
